Preston Montague is a landscape architect and artist working to strengthen connections between people and the natural world. From new construction design projects to private gardens and large-scale public land planning, Preston is one of the up and coming, award-winning designers in the state, creating a children’s garden at Hunter Elementary, botanical art for Walter magazine, and a Native Garden Designs video series. His website is a good starting point to see his innovative and comprehensive plans, his time-lapse projects from start to finish and his artistry.

Landscape design has roots in classical fine arts training. Understanding the principles and elements of art theory helps with designing experience-rich, evocative landscapes, as does the practice of art. Join Preston Montague for a conversation about other lessons he learned for finding success in the garden through his work producing art throughout his life.
