JC Raulston Arboretum Winter Garden
RGC members have been maintaining the Winter Garden at JCRA for many years. This garden was designed for peak interest, color and fragrance during the winter months. We meet on the third Thursday of the month, weather permitting. Join in to weed, prune, discover new plants, enjoy the fragrance in the air and the fellowship of other gardeners. Signups at the meetings or contact Erica Winston directly to get on the group list. This does not commit you to show up every month, but lets me send an email for the opportunity to sign up for the workday each month.

A Winter Garden Walk - February 2022
The Winter Garden was looking beautiful for the tour this past February.
The entrance showed a charming quince (Chaenomeles speciosa ‘Contorta’) in full bloom … a plant that Cyndy said does well in shade and sun, and this one is contorted, adding a glamour to the plant. Across the way the contrast of deep green pachysandra and chartreuse Sweet Flag (Acorus gramineus ‘Ogon Golden’ )made a perfect background.
A late blooming snowdrop lined the path with its nodding bells, here shown before a Florida Anise (Illicium floridanum) with golden foliage year round.
