On Wednesday, September 2nd, Beth Owen, President of RGC over the next two years, will take you on part of her African journey where she and her Ugandan friends created a bountiful food program. Afterwards, club members and guests will meet Committee Chairs, hear about upcoming events and fun activities planned for the year.  Signup for monthly outings, learn about gardens we nurture, classes we teach and places that we invest our time and energy throughout Raleigh. Bring your questions and ideas to the people who can help and if we can we’ll make it happen!

RGC monthly meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month, September through June, at the NC State University Club on Hillsborough Street, 10:30am - 1:00pm.

Fall Bulb Sale

Place your order here from Terra Ceia Farms. Deadline to order is Sept 30. Bulbs will be available for pickup at our November meeting, just in time for the ideal planting season between mid-November and January 15.

The below activities are intended for Raleigh Garden Club members only. To become a member, all that is required is to attend 1 monthly meeting and pay dues. If interested, please email us at reservations@raleighgardenclub.org and our reservations chair will gladly get you signed up to attend.

Sept 25, Fri 10- 11:30 Civic Improvement trip to Cedar Creek Gallery. We will tour the gallery’s charming gardens and workshops and have time for shopping. Oct 15, Thurs 11, Horticulture trip to Camellia Forest Nursery. This is an established nursery specializing in Camellias. We will get a tour and discussion of their process and varieties. If you want to add a visit to the English Garden it is a $10 fee. 620 NC Hwy 54 W. Chapel Hill, NC 27516

Oct 15, Thurs 10-12, Floral Design, “The Golden Hour”, Creating with Late Summer and Early Fall Flora, led by Joyce Moses. Cost $25. JCRA Ruby McSwain Education Center.

Oct 20, Tues 10-12, Civic Improvement, Tour the State Capital. See the beautiful architecture and hear about the history of the building. 1 E Edenton St, Raleigh.

Oct 20, Tues 10-12, Martha Franck Fragrance Garden Workday, weather permitting.

Oct 26, Mon 1-3, Environmental. “Behind the Scenes: JCRA Seed Collection”. Learn how the JC Raulston Arboretum seed collection program works, meet the volunteers involved, see behind-the-scenes processing and storage, try cleaning seed, and take home one or two packets of surplus seed. JCRA McSwain Education Center.

Oct 26-28, Mon-Wed, Flower Show School. National Garden Club’s Flower Show School is a comprehensive program with all you need to know about judging, entering, competing and chairing a National Garden Clubs (NGC) flower show.
